Dewey E. Coffins, born Jan. 21, 1888, in Gratiot County, Mich.; died in Battle Creek, Mich., March 31. 1957. He entered the colporteur work in 1923, and a few months later became assistant publishing secretary of the East Michigan Conference. In 1924 he went to the West Michigan Conference as publishing department secretary, where he served 5 years. He returned to the East Michigan Conference as publishing department secretary in 1929 and was ordained in 1930. In 1931 he was called to the Illinois Conference as publishing department secretary, which position he held one year. He was the publishing secretary in the Central Union the next 4 years, and for the North Pacific Union from 1936 to 1943. He served for a short time in the Canadian Union, returning to the States in 1944 because of poor health. His last charge was as pastor of the Yakima, Wash., church. In 1915 he was married to Mary Brady, who survives. He also leaves a son, a daughter, 2 grandchildren, a sister, and a brother.
