Just eight months after her husband was taken from her by death, following a car accident, Mrs. Dora Ellen Sanford quietly passed away on Oct. 18, 1948, at the same home in North Shade Twp., Gratiot Co., Mich., where she was born Apr. 21, 1871. Sister Sanford was the daughter of George and Lydia Proctor, and was married to Charles Sanford on May 25, 1898, having accepted the truth just prior to her marriage. She was a faithful member of the Carson City Church until death. Brother and Sister Sanford brought up as their own three children: her cousin, Mary Van Alstyne and Edmund Van Alstyne, her son; also Mrs. Edna Cranson. These three, with her brother, Bert Proctor, and many friends remain to cherish her memory. The service was conducted by Elders E. R. Potter and S. W. Hyde.
