Mary Irene, daughter of Giles and Sarah Lovewell McKeon was born August 14, 1867 in Brant, Saginaw Co., Mich. and died April 21, 1951, at Alma, Mich. At sixteen she was left an orphan, and made her home with an aunt and uncle in Gratiot Co. On March 12, 1890 she was united in marriage to John T.
Sutton, who preceded her in death twenty-two years ago. For a number of years she taught in the rural school of Gratiot County. As a young woman, Sr. Sutton united with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and remained faithful to the end. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Kerby and Mrs. Sarah Rendel, three grandchildren, and one sister.
